CONNECTING PARENTS & KIDS TO INSPIRE THE NEXT GENERATION

Life’s Heavy Topics, Lightly Roasted

A Practical Playbook for Parents and Kids

How do we raise our children to thrive in a world that many see as uniquely challenging?

Every generation of parents worries about what lies ahead for their kids, but our current moment seems exceptional. Many young people today struggle with more challenges as they try to find their way into adulthood.

Many believe our kids are growing up slower, and are less ready for life, than the prior generation. Some of the drivers behind these challenges come down to how we as parents help our kids to help themselves.

Perhaps there is a need for more hope and less mope to help make kids (and their parents) more resilient and ready for tomorrow.

Our kids must learn to be citizens, leaders, followers, colleagues, friends, neighbors, partners, parents and so many other roles that humans are tasked to play.

As parents, we want our kids to grow to become the types of adults who can handle all these roles, along with all the change and uncertainty in the world today.

About

The Mission

More than just a book, Raising Tomorrow is a platform for parents-adults and kids to connect with each other. With the power of shared experiences and knowledge from both young and old, we can create a space for people to share stories and perspectives in support of the next generation.

The Book

Constructed from a series of letters from a father to his daughters, Raising Tomorrow is an entertaining rant driven by curiosity, hope, and humor for both parents and kids.

From your identity, to navigating social media, to getting an education and finding work... to simply trying to get along with others -- everything seems more complicated, and confused, than it should be.

Raising Tomorrow inspires conversation and action among parents and kids to help us all be confident, compassionate, and competent grownups.

The next generation will need to be more independent and interdependent than ever, and the way we raise our children will make a profound difference.

In this playbook for perspective, you will discover:

> Different views on issues kids face, from school and work to love and technology

> Actionable ideas and stories to spark honest, empowering talks between parents and kids

> Insights for kids and parents that help foster independence, responsibility and resilience

So let’s start the conversation and stay talking with each other to prepare our kids for what lies ahead.

FROM THE BOOK

“You may more than once in your life ask yourself, ‘Why and how did my parents mess me up?’ – or – ‘Why and how did my parents help me grow up?’ And consider this: these two things could be related!”

The Author

Kepler Knott

Kepler has been a writer, teacher, soldier, entrepreneur and, most importantly, a husband and father to his two daughters. He has lived his life as a “traveler” across places, jobs, classes and cultures. He is always learning that some ways of living are better than others to make life full. Though there are often as many questions as answers, his book aims to impart some of what he’s discovered, and to invite other parents and their kids to do the same.
